Varsity officials! Please read this entire message.

As a new season begins, please do not forget about a very important responsibility to rate junior varsity officials.

It is IMPORTANT for YOU to RATE the JV officials. Only fficials with 2 years of varsity experience can rate. Any varsity official can help a JV official, they just can’t rate them on the website.

Post-game comments provide valuable feedback for JV officials. Please be sure to include the same comments in your submitted rating. Comments will be emailed to JV officials, so please keep comments professional.

The BOD is exploring ways to improve the ratings process. Our first step is ensuring that every Varsity official understands both their responsibilities and the expectations of the board.

Specifically, we ask that all Varsity officials rate JV officials in a timely and constructive manner. Timely means submitting your rating within five days of working their game, while the details are still fresh.

Constructive means providing specific observations and examples—not simply stating “should move up to varsity.” Meaningful detail is essential to an effective evaluation.

The Board’s goal and expectation is that 100% of JV officials are to be rated by eligible Varsity officials that have seen at least one quarter of their game.

If you are new to rating, please start by opening the JV Rating Form located at the top of the Board 60 website. The remaining steps are easy to follow.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
