IAABO stands for International Association of Approved Basketball Officials. Board 60 is the greater Rochester chapter of IAABO. IAABO has been around for over 100 years and is the organization that provides our training materials.
Meetings are held at Brighton High School, or another high school in Monroe County, and start in September. Exact dates and locations TBD.
Your sign-up fee is $110, which includes two (2) required online courses and the IAABO registration fee. The $110 fee must be paid in full to our Board 60 secretary, Dan Goebert, before you can start the Online training. Payment can be done as follows:
Once Dan has received payment, he will notify Board Secretary Randy Traugott, who will share a link to start your online training.
Fingerprinting is $100. Section V reimburses $50 upon background approval. Black sneakers, black socks, black pants, stripped shirt and a Fox 40 whistle is the required uniform. Estimated costs is about $150.
Yearly dues after first year. As of 2024, our yearly dues are $85 and covers IAABO registration and our year-end banquet.
Earnings: New officials will be able to work JV, Modified and CYO games exclusively. JV currently (as of 2024) earn $99.80 per game and modified $87.70. CYO fee is in negotiations.
There are games almost every night. You will work based on your availability. If you are unable work certain nights, you can block them out when you submit your availability.
