The Section V Assignment Committee will be meeting on Sunday morning this weekend to assign the first round games. First round games will ll be 2-person games.
All rounds after that will be 3-person. We plan to get the assignments out by noon or shortly after on Sunday for the first round games. We ask that all officials accept the assignments ASAP, but no later than 7PM. If they have not accepted the assignment by 7, the game will be reassigned.
Here are some other reminders for this and all rounds of the tournament:
- Accept all assignments on Arbiter as soon as you receive them.
- If for any reason you must turn back an assignment, I MUST receive a phone call. I understand people get sick, have job requirements, get college assignments, and emergencies do come up. Just be honest with me, because if I find out you are not being honest with me or the committee, you will not receive any more assignments in this year’s tournament.
- There is NO NEED to text me the results of any games this year, in any round.
- It is very important that you contact your partner or partners prior to each assignment. This is a requirement!!! Anyone on the crew can initiate the contact, but it is the Referee’s responsibility to make sure there is positive contact. Positive contact means all officials working the game have confirmed with each other the game time and location as well as any meeting arrangements. Failure to do this will result in the entire crew not receiving further assignments in this year’s tournament.
- Make sure you give yourself enough time to get to the school early and have a good pregame. Please remember, officials are required to be on the court 15 minutes prior to tip off. Earlier is better.
- Lastly, if there are any changes to your availability, please let me know as soon as you know.
Any questions about any of this please contact me.
Best Regards,
Rich Frank
