Our next meeting is our first interpretation meeting of the season, starting at 7 p.m. on Oct. 23. Everyone MUST MAKE AT LEAST ONE of these interpretations meetings. It’s your job to be there.
We will also have some Zoom business meetings this year. Review our full schedule at https://board60.com/meetings.
Board 60 Website: We have nearly 180 people registered for the website. Both our Sportsmanship and JV rating forms have been updated to provide receipt notifications to officials and game comments directly to JV officials. Be sure to make sure you mark Board 60 in your safe senders email, and be sure to check your junk email if you are missing anything.
Also, we are working on a process to send new Board 60 updates directly to your email and may look into an SMS (text) service, among other enhancements.
New officials will get access to the website, provided they are making satisfactory progress, sometime in mid-November. Bookmark and save your log-in information. Be sure to update your profile with a photo, too!
Coaching directory: We have contacted Section V to get a new list of coaches posted to our website. When we receive it, we’ll let everyone know when it’s on the website.
IAABO.ORG: While Sandy is providing training documents to post on the Home Page of the Board 60 website, IAABO has several areas to explore with videos, guides, rule sheets and much more in its Members only section of their website. It’s FREE as members, too! All you have to do is go register, follow the instructions and check it out.
Sending Our Regards: Long-time Newark basketball coach Ron Ceravolo passed away earlier this week. His coaching career spanned more than four decades and included 400-plus career wins, 15 league titles, four Section V Championships, and two State Final Four appearances.
He received multiple league and Section V Coach of the Year honors and was inducted into the Section V Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. In 2024, Newark renamed its court “Coach Ron Ceravolo Court” to honor him. Board 60 sends it regards to coach Ceravolo and his family. We do not have any information regarding services.
Also, Board 60 has sent cards out to Mark McElroy (brother) and John Greiner (father-in-law) who have had losses in their families over the last few months.
